PURPOSE:To obtain the title yarn with silky gloss, excellent in drape nature, bulkiness, nerve, etc., by blending at a specified ratio silk staple fiber and polyester staple fiber identical in their average finenesses and average fiber lengths. CONSTITUTION:The objective blended yarn =800/10m in fluff index made up of (A) silk staple fiber and (B) polyester staple fiber with the respective average finenesses =2 denier and average fiber lengths 25-40mm. For the present yarn, the component A accounts for 5-50wt.% of the whole yarn. The present yarn can be obtained by e.g. the following process: silk staple fiber and polyester staple fiber are mutually blended through a mixingand-blowing process and put to carding, drawing, roving and then fine spinning treatments into sliver.
