PURPOSE: To permit the removal of vanes requiring no removal of an impeller case and the like by placing their mounting bases in respective vane receiving slots and placing vane retaining pins in respective slots and grooves for reception of vane retaining pins. CONSTITUTION: For its replacement, a vane 28 is first moved radially inward until it engages an impeller case 20. A drawing tool is thereafter used or inserted in a hole 32 across a vane retaining pin 30 to retrieve it for the removal of the vane 28, or rotate it so that it is brought out of alignment with a first section 42 of a groove 34 for reception of the vane retaining pin and into alignment with a second section 44 thereof.
