MANUFACTURE OF STAINLESS STEEL SINTERED PRODUCT AND STAINLESS STEEL POWDER FOR INJECTION MOLDING

PURPOSE:To make uniform reaction of C and O in every part of the inner part of powder and to obtain a finished product without remaining unnecessary O and C by incorporating C in the powder itself in the method of removing oxide in the powder with the reaction of C and O. CONSTITUTION:In the stainless steel powder for sintering of a low carbon stainless steel product having 0.03 wt.% C in the finished sintered condition, C is contained at least at the equivalent atomic ratio or more to O. Concretely, C is contained at the time of dissolving each metal component. This powder is sintered after forming to the prescribed shape with injection molding, and also under heating condition at the time of sintering or preceding to this, C and O are brought to reaction and removed as gas. By this method, a mixture of the metal powder with C powder needing long time and a device, become useless, and the segregation of C in the powder can be avoided.
