PURPOSE:To enable rapid and easy drawing of image lines of varying width which constitute bar code by discharging image drawing liquid such as pigment to a member on which image lines are drawn and at the same time, providing nozzles with a discharge orifice having different vertical and horizontal sizes. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle 31 is moved by a nozzle moving mechanism 27 to draw bar code lines on the surface of a ceramic plate 4. To draw the first linear part 10A with a small width, a cantilever part 29 of the nozzle moving mechanism 27 is allowed to descend by a specified length with the longitudinal end 34B of a discharge orifice 34 set in parallel with an X axis direction. In addition, a nozzle support part 30 is moved in the X axis direction. Then pigment is sent to a nozzle 31 from the tank 36 of a pigment discharge mechanism 38 through a tube 35. This pigment is discharged from the discharge orifice 34 of the nozzle 31, and applied to the ceramic plate 4 linearly. In this case, the pigment is smoothly discharged as the discharge orifice 34 has the longitudinal end 34 measuring four times longer than a short end 34A.
