PURPOSE:To prevent the damage on a film surface due to rubbing to a cradle by a method wherein a cradle is advanced to a welding performing section from the longitudinal direction of a welding line along the surface of a commodity while a sheet material is being placed along the surface. of a cradle orderly from the front end, and after both edges of a film have been lapped on the supporting surface and have been welded, the cradle is taken out from the welded part while the sheet material is orderly being peeled from the front end of the inner surface of the welded part of the film. CONSTITUTION:A film (b) is cut, and the both cut ends (b'), (b') are mutually lapped on a supporting surface 1a of a cradle 1. Under this condition, the lapped part of the film is thermally welded by contact-pressing between a welding die member 1c, which is provided on the supporting surface 1a, and a movable pressing member (d). After welding, the pressing member (d) for welding is made to retreat, and the cradle 1 is pulled out from the welding performing section by a taking in and out operating device 2. At this time, accompanying with the pulling out motion, a sheet material 4 is gradually peeled from the inner surface of the film (b) and is pulled out together with the cradle 1. Therefore, by the existence of the sheet material 4, the cradle 1 is easily pulled out without rubbing the inner surface of the film (b), and even when the film (b) has a tendency to bond to a commodity (a) side by the contractile tension, the cradle 1 does not directly come into contact with the film inner surface by the existence of the sheet material 4. Therefore, the generation of film damage due to mutual rubbing can be assuredly prevented.
