PURPOSE: To obtain excellent flexibility, high tensile strength and the resistance against a harmful chemical agent, plasticizer or coloring agent by adding a plasticizer-resistant barrier layer to a seal member and providing specific flexibility and impact resistance to a sheet article. CONSTITUTION: A retroreflective sheet article includes a surface member 12 and a seal member 14 and the seal member 14 includes a binder layer 16, an intermediate adhesive 18 and a barrier layer 20. The surface member 12 and the seal member 14 are arranged so as to leave a distance between both members and sealed by a reticulated continuous bonding 22. Further, the retroreflective element 24 arranged between the surface member 12 and the seal member 14 comprises microspheres 26 arranged in a substantially single- layered state and partially embedded in the binder layer 16 of the seal member 14 to partially protrude from the fronts 30 thereof having reflectors 28 arranged therebehind. The sheet article 10 has flexibility sufficient to be wound around a mandrel of 1/8 inch at temp. of 0 deg.C without generating a crack and also has impact resistance of at least 40 in-lb at 0 deg.C.
