The treatment method of the Ge/Li coaxial detector that ionises radiation lies in the fact that the thick diffusion layer of the front wall of the coaxial detector is ground at least to the layer "i" and hence the part of the "n" layer of the detector is removed and, subsequently, this side is etched by the mixture of nitric acid and fluoric acid in the ratio between 2:1 and 10:1 so that the cylindrical surface of the detector would not be damaged by the etching mixture, whereupon the front wall of the coaxial detector is treated by diffusion of lithium and the detector is drifted at the temperature from 30 to 50 degrees C. Consequently, the detector is encapsulated into cryostat, which is evacuated and submerged into liquid nitrogen.
