Pure water and water with iron-manganese content are produced separately, the latter is saturated with oxygen and returned to a filter layer. The iron-manganese contaminated water is clarified in passing through the layers and is returned to the well, together with the originally pure water. The equipment includes two pumps. One pump discharges pure water into the collection header. The other pump, is of a closed arrangement, and discharges into a storage tank via the pressure pipe. Air is introduced into this pipe by the injector. The storage tank discharges into a distribution system, below ground level, above the pure water collector system, in the filter lay
