Electrolysis-nuclear fusion process - carried out with application of magnetic field to increase the incidence of nuclear fusion

In a process for electrolysis-nuclear fusion in which a magnetic field is applied, the appts. comprises an electrolysis vessel contg. two electrodes and means for inducing a magnetic field in the electrolysis vessel. Pref. the magnetic field is provided by a superconductor magnet or an electric coil in which the electrolysis cell is mounted. The coil is pref. provided with cooling means, e.g. where the coil has hollow a windings for circulation of a cooling medium. The electrodes are pref. comprised of a Pt anode and a Pd or Ti cathode. The electrolyte is pref. a soln. of lithium deuteride in heavy water.
