In the case of a device for drawing-off and washing-off paint mist in a paint-spraying process a closed chamber is provided behind the so-called water curtain. The chamber is divided into two functional areas. The first functional area primarily serves for washing off the paint mist, the second functional area provides long, multiply deflected air paths in order to draw the moisture from the air using simple means before the environmentally friendly air passes into the atmosphere.
