The aim is to increase the sensitivity of such a device, which operates with the aid of a lens 1 which projects a real image of the object, and with the aid of photoelectric receivers 3 which are connected to an evaluation circuit 10 and are assigned only to sections of the image projected by the lens 1. To achieve this aim, it is proposed that each image section of the image projected by the lens 1 is assigned a separate photoelectric receiver 3, and that the evaluation circuit 10 has a measuring circuit for shifting the phase of the output signal changes of the individual receivers 3 which are caused by the movement of the object image over the imaging region.
