In this supporting bandage, of the type consisting of an extensible sock (2) which has an open heel and is integral with the end of an extensible band (3) provided at its other end with attachment means, the extensible band (3) is fixed on the median part of the extensible sock (2), partly on the upper tubular element (2a) and partly on the lower tubular element (2b) of this sock, and comprises a free end (3b), of pointed shape, to the edges (4) of which are fixed the ends of an elastic band (5) forming a loop capable of being attached on the heel without folding, after passing the band to the inner side of a foot, under the instep, over the instep, spanning the anterior fasciculus of the external lateral ligament, then against the inner malleolus.
