The system consists in encapsulating the radioactive sources of the lightning arrester, coupling onto them a cover which closes them off and which closes externally by means of the sealing of its edges, using a rapid- application silicone. The device in the form of a cover is manufactured from lead sheet which is 1 or 2 mm thick, its shape being variable, conditioned in each case by the geometry of the support on which it has to act.
