Stain remover composition, in gel form, based on methylene chloride and ethyl alcohol and procedure for the preparation thereof. The composition comprises: 2% of methylhydroxypropylcellulose, 44% of methylene chloride, 44% of ethyl alcohol and 10% of methanol. The procedure comprises: a) mixing the methylene chloride with the methanol in the stated proportions b) adding the stated quantity of methylhydroxypropylcellulose and continuing to mix thoroughly c) adding the ethyl alcohol to the mixture, also in the proportion stated above, and continuing to mix thoroughly until a product in the form of a homogeneous gel is obtained. The composition is used to remove ink or grease stains on the surface of the skin or on non-porous surfaces.
