Title of the Invention: MEMORY FOR STORING RESPONSEPATTERNS IN AN AUTOMATIC TESTINGINSTRUMENTABSTRACTIn an automatic testing instrument, to storeresponses educed from an equipment under test in responseto stimuli sent thereto, a response memory is used. Thisresponse memory includes two serial/parallel shiftregisters, a buffer, a static RAM and an input/outputbuffer. The response memory is capable of accepting thedata bits being transmitted by the equipment under testat different data rates, corresponding to either serialor parallel inputted data bits.
