Abstract of the DisclosureIn the frequency-division multiplex broadbandmultimedia network of this invention, a plurality oftransmission paths are laid out in a matrix, withtransmission path switches being arranged at respectivelattice points. Each transmission path switch monitorsa transmission path current. When a transmission pathswitch detects that a current has been cut off, aportion where a communication trouble is caused isdisconnected from the network, and the switch connects aportion at the downstream side of this transmission pathswitch to another adjacent transmission path.
