PHASE-COHERENT TDMA QUADRATURE RECEIVERFOR MULTIPATH FADING CHANNELSAbstract of the InventionA method and apparatus for phase-coherentlydemodulating a multipath-impaired time division multipleaccess QPSK data timeslot is disclosed. A quadratureseparator generates multipath-impaired intermediatesignals which, during a predetermined synchronizingsequence for the timeslot, are applied to a pair ofsynchronizing correlators to generate quadraturemultipath profiles. These profiles then are used tomodify subsequently received QPSK timeslot signals at theseparator outputs to coherently construct multipathcompensated I and Q channel data.
