The present invention is directed to octreotide-pamoate which issuitable for use in sustained release formulations of a peptide drugcompound preferably a somatosatin like octreotide, e.g. as a pamoatesalt. The drug compound is present in a polymeric carrier,preferably a polylactide-co-glycolide, especially apoly(lactide-co-glycolide)glucose. The formulation is preferably a depotformulation in the form of a monolithic microparticle.
