APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ACHIEVING URINARY CONTINENCE

PURPOSE: To provide an inhibiting device for the incontinence of an urine of making possible to maintain a patient's inhibiting ability for the incontinence of the urine without any surgical operation by composing of that a globular membrane inserted in an urinary bladder and a strong magnetic material surrounding the above globular member as a coating is remotely controlled by a external magnet for positioning a regulated position in the bladder so that an urethral meatus is opened or shut by the globular membrane body in the bladder. CONSTITUTION: A globular body 10 includes a membrane made of a bio-compatible material and a strong magnetic material is held in the membrane or integrally formed with the wall portion of the globular body 10. The globular body 10 is transplanted into a bladder 14 through an urethral canal 12, and can give an inhibiting ability for inhibiting the incontinence of the urine by shutting a liquid flow between the bladder 14 together with the urethral meatus and the urethral canal 12. And the magnet 28 is positioned adjacent the bladder 14 on the outside of a patient's skin layer 34 and when the magnet 28 is operated to the strong magnetic material of the globular body 10, the globular body 10 is moved from the trigone of the bladder 26 and a crossing portion between the bladder 14 and the urethral canal 12 is released so that the urine can flow into the urethral canal 12 from the bladder 14.
