Closing device including a fixed plate through which a taphole is cut and a mobile plate through which at least one taphole is cut, said mobile plate being mounted such that it slides in relation to the fixed plate by presenting a rubbing surface to a rubbing surface of the fixed plate. The fixed plate (10) includes a metal plate (11) with a planar outer surface (10A) and has a cut-out (13) in which is placed a wear part (14) in a refractory material through which at least one taphole (15) is cut. The lower surface (10B) of the wear part (14) is flush with the planar outer surface (10A) of the metal plate (11) such that the rubbing surface of the fixed plate which is in contact with the mobile plate consists for the main part of a metal surface (10A) and of a refractory surface (10B) of reduced span.
