A vehicular vacuum sewage system has a waste tank (199) to which air and sewage is fed via an inlet pipe (10) and from which air is evacuated via an outlet pipe (262). To permit use of a minimum volume tank at maximum filling ratio the air and sewage are separated at the inlet via an inlet device (208) which uses the kinetic energy of the incoming flow for the separation. An outlet device (212) also above the maximum sewage level (198), includes a flexible closure member (258).
