The device described is used for geotechnical sampling. A central cylinder (14) is intended to be applied on the lower end of a drill tube (10) which is introduced into the soil by means of a rotary drilling process and / or percussion. The central cylinder (14) is connected to an expandable sleeve (22). To retain the central cylinder, a positive pressure is created inside the sleeve (22) so as to extend in the walls, which then are pressed against the walls of the drill pipe (10). Thus, the sleeve (22) and the central roll (14) are firmly fixed to each other during the sampling operation. When the core barrel is filled, the pressure is reduced inside the sleeve (22) and the core barrel taken out by pulling it upwardly through the drill tube (10).
