Prefabricated element for the construction of a dam facing and construction method for such a dam

Prefabricated and presealed element for the construction of dam facings, said element taking the form of a prism-shaped reinforced-concrete block (1), the cross-section of which has the form of a trapezium. The adjacent faces (5, 6, 7 and partially 3) of said block are covered with a reinforced bituminised sealing sheet (14) which adheres to said faces, whilst the face (2) and at least one (9) of the end faces (8, 9) of the block are each coated with a sealing mastic (15) activatable by heating. The face (2) of the block is equipped with projecting hooks (10, 11) for the fastening of slings, whilst the face (3) is provided with receptacles (12, 13), each receptacle having the same axis as a hook and being arranged so as to be capable of fitting over one of the hooks of a similar adjacent lower block. Such an element can be used particularly during the construction of a roller-compacted concrete dam for ensuring the sealing of the upstream facing of such a dam. IMAGE
