The invention relates to platinum(II) complexes of 2,3-dimercapto-2-butene-dinitrilate(2-)-S,S' derivatives having the general formula (I): CHEM wherein R is a dialkylsulphide or trialkylphosphine group and each alkyl group may contain one or more hydroxyl groups and has 1 to 2 carbon atoms, as well as to a process for preparing these compounds and to pharmaceutical compositions containing these compounds. These compounds are useful for treating tumor diseases.
