ADHESIVE CONTAINING PIT AND FISSURE SEALANTS

Dental sealant compositions that include an adhesive and optionally a source of elutable fluoride ions is provided. The compositions demonstrate bond strength to teeth that is comparable with the mechanical bond strength achieved by acid etching, and when used with acid etching assures a good bond to the tooth in anomalous areas where the acid etch fails. In an optional embodiment, elutable fluoride ions may be included in the composition to help prevent carious activity.
