Device for help with diagnosis of breakdowns in a machine driven by programmable automatic equipment for industrial process control, characterised in that it comprises, in combination, means (3) for storage of data corresponding to breakdown procedures for the machine, means for transmitting to the device data corresponding to the state of the various members of the machine to be examined, means (10) for comparison of the state data from the various members of the machine with data corresponding to breakdowns or anomalies of the machine and means (12) for display of the breakdown or anomaly in the machine in the case of coincidence between an item of state information from a member of the machine and an item of breakdown information of the corresponding member stored in the said means of storage (3).
