In this case, valuable materials - according to occurrence and requirement - are extracted from the polluted material streams and the pollutants are separated off and destroyed by thermal afterburning. High temperature corrosion zones are avoided during this by cooling, the individual process steps for extraction of valuable materials, destruction of pollutants and purification of the polluted matter streams and also the individual matter streams being combined according to occurrence and requirement. In addition, liquids/gases foreign to the process having a polluting character, such as for example landfill seepage waters and/or concentrates thereof and also landfill gases can be specifically purified in a stepped manner.
