A ferrite type-hot rolled stainless steel strip for a batch annealing is recoiled to have placer plates placed between the layers at the distavce from the outer susface of 70-80% of the coil thickness from the outer layer of the coil to the inner core. The yield strength of the placer plate is below 15kgf/mm3, the thickness is 5-7mm, and the material is of low carbon-hot rolled stainless stee. The gap created by the plates allows the free flow of ambient gas between the strip layers to reduce the temperature difference between the layers and result in the uniformed crystal grains of the annealed strip.
