The method uses an output port different from a printer port or expanding slots to interface the hard disk driver (HDD). The method includes a switch (SW) for designating the usage of floppy disk driver (FDD) or the HDD; a connecting pin (120) for connecting the FDD and the HDD to a floppy disk controller (FDD) and a hard disk controller (HDC), a first relaying unit deposited between the connection pin and the FDC (100) to relay the signal between the FDD and the FDC (100), a second relaying unit deposited between the connecting pin and the HDC (110) to relay the signal between the HDC (110) and the HDD according to the switch (SW) action, bi-directional buffers (150,160,1110) for communicating data between the HDC and the HDD, and a transmission direction controller (180) for controlling the transmission direction.
