Radio transmission method for tactical use - using frequency pumps to transmit information in bursts and returning synthesisers

The method of radio transmission described employs a constant change in the carrier frequency (or frequency jumps), in which the transmission of information, related to the length of the alternating period of the carrier frequency, is performed in bursts, one following after the other. The fixed sepn. in time of these bursts is determined by the max. re-tuning time of the synthesisers set to produce the carrier frequencies. For monitoring at the receiver, a connection made between a transmitting and a receiving station, the transmitter always sends, besides the usual burst of information, a preceding pilot signal (P) when the re-tuning time required by the synthesiser (SYN) is so short that the remaining time is sufficient for this signal. This pilot signal is evaluated by the receiver for monitoring the connection. ADVANTAGE - No need to reduce information flow in order to transmit a pilot signal in addition.
