In order to achieve uniform flow rates in the pipe, with simultaneous part-filling of the vacuum pipe with water and air, the laying form for the pipe is arranged such that a uniform change between high and low points takes place. Consequently, a uniform flow rate is achieved and deposits in the pipe are avoided. The highest point of a high point is to be set higher than the lowest point of a low point by at least double the pipe diameter. Inspection shafts with shut-off valves are to be installed at least at a distance of 200 m. Valves for aerating purposes are to be installed in the shafts.
