A fighting vehicle, in particular a tank has its main gun (8) mounted so that it is offset from the middle longitudinal plane of the vehicle. The gun mounting (6) has a central opening (7) which enables the mounting (6) to fit over and rotate around the turret (3) which is fixed to the vehicle. The turret (3) has openings (4, 5) to provide means of observation for the tank crew who are thus provided with an unobstructed field of view. A brake is provided to hold the mounting stationary when the gun is fired. USE - Fighting vehicles.
