PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition which prevents or controls the filiform corrosion of a substrate metal, by using a specified hydrotalcite solid solution as a film-forming ingredient. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. film-forming component consisting of a paint resin such as an aminoalkyd resin, a pigment, a dye, a filler, etc., is mixed with 0.1-20pts.wt. hydrotalcite solid solution of the formula (wherein M2+2 is a divalent metal selected from among Zn, Cd, Pb, Ca and Sr; M3+ is a trivalent metal; An- is an anion of a valence of n; 0x=0.5; 0.5=y1+y21; 0=m2) having an average secondary particle diameter of 0.1-2mum and a BET specific surface area of 30m2/g or less, or said solid solution treated at 120-350 deg.C for 1-40hr in air or in an atmosphere of, e.g., N2 or He to remove the water of crystallization to such an extent that m becomes equal to or close to 0 and if necessary, surface-treated with a finishing agent such as a silane coupling agent.
