Rain-butt automatic flushing equipment - has valve releasing trapped air from vessel closed apart from flushing port

The equipment flushes out a liquid-storage chamber such as a rain butt etc. automatically, having a flushing vessel at the highest point of the butt bottom and which fills with liq. as the level rises. The latter controls a mechanism retaining the liq. in the vessel as the level falls again, releasing it suddenly via a flushing port on emptying. The flushing vessel (13) is closed apart from the port (15), and has a non-return valve (28) via which trapped air escapes during filling via the port. An outlet zone (A) in the vessel leading to the port has an inlet inside the vessel whose top edge (19) is below the level of the bottom edge (20) of the port. Thus on emptying the butt (1) liq. is retained in the vessel bny atmopspheric pressure, being released by freeing the air inlet (23). USE/ADVANTAGE - Sudden release of flushing liq. to flush out a rain butt without need for external power supply.
