The parking robot allows the vehicles to be placed in a vacant parking position and subsequently removed from the latter. The robot (10) is displaced horizontally and vertically relative to a number of parking rows (2,3,4,5) via a processor control. Pref. the robot (10) uses a platform which is displaced between the successive parking lines and which can be raised and lowered into alignment with a required parking plane. The control of the robot (10) is pref. effected via a control desk at a central point used to enter the input data for the processor control, the operation of the robot (10) being monitored to allow it to be brought to a standstill when a fault in its operation is detected. ADVANTAGE - Allows max. density of parked vehicles.
