Prodn. is claimed of flat, dished pipe, or container shaped components in fibre reinforced plastic with an improved surface. The liquid resin and reinforcement are placed onto a positive or negative tool which has previously been covered with a parting film, cured and then demoulded. A very smooth surface finish, free from defects such as dust or tool surface faults, can be achieved if a high viscosity fluid film is formed between the parting film and the tool surface. ADVANTAGE - Produces a very smooth prod. surface. The tool does not require expensive finishing operations such as rubbing down or polishing.
