Measuring operating state of liquid-liquid systems - using transition time of ultrasonic pulse through liquid-liquid phase using observation period length at least equal to ultrasonic period
Measuring operating state of liquid-liquid systems - using transition time of ultrasonic pulse through liquid-liquid phase using observation period length at least equal to ultrasonic period
The transition time of an ultrasonic pulse through the liquid-liquid phase of a system is measured to derive the drop phase component or operating state. The system's pulse period is divided into observation intervals of optional length at least equal to the ultrasonic period and the drop phase component measured for each interval. The hold-up distribution corresp. to the measurement value is computed w.r.t. the pulse position to distinguish different flow or operating states. USE/ADVANTAGE - For monitoring and controlling pulsating liquid-liquid systems. Exactly determines and enables maintenance of instantaneous operating state.
