A warhead for attacking ships, and delivered esp. from a sea-skimming projectile, has an outer casing (2) contg. a series of parallel sub-munitions in the form of penetrators (7) each contg. an explosive charge (13-16). A radar detector indicating increment impact actuates a scattering charge (12) distributing emitted penetrators upwards and sideways to affect the max. target area. The same detector electrically actuates cutters cords (8,9) on the casing periphery. A sensor cut the front of each penetrator ignites the explosive charges in sequence from the rearmost, ensuring that on meeting a bulk-head or other internal partition the leading charges pass through the barrier to produce more damage when detonator farther along the fly path. A delay system secures shock-waves from the detonated rear charge do not prematurely detonate the preceding charges. Detonator cords (33) round the rear periphery of each charge aid sepn.
