A threaded plastic component with a screwed piece has a recess in part of its fixed thread, where a threaded area can move between two side positions and can pivot about an axis which is approx. radial to the centre line of the threaded part; it pivots from one position taken up when it is screwed up tightly and in which the crests of the thread are projections of the adjacent crests of the thread on the fixed part. In its other position, taken when unscrewed, its thread crests lie at an acute angle to the adjacent crests, so that the thread of the screwed piece is locked by that of the moving part; in this assembly the moving part is elastic and can be moved from its starting position into either direction of pivoting. The screwed piece is preferably also plastic material. ADVANTAGE - The threaded assembly is a safe one and will not become loose with time i.e. unlike screwed plastic components hitherto it remains tightly screwed.
