A self propelling or tractor drawn machine for stabilising inadequate load bearing road construction or recycling road surfacee in need of repair. The wearing coat is removed by a milling roller (7), broken up and, if necessary, mixed with a bonding agent. The level of broken up material which is ejected to the rear of the housing is regulated by an adjustable flap (15), and there is an additional adjustable flap (14) to the front of the housing facing the roller (7). USE/ADVANTAGE - The machine can be reversed without changing the direction of rotation of the roller.
