A circular hand saw has a drive housing (3) for electrical driving of the saw blade (1) rotatably mounted on a base plate (5). A laser diode (10) is positioned on the base plate. The laser-diodes beam (13) is projected onto the surface (14) of the workpiece (4) to guide the saw blade (1) precisely along the line of the pattern to be cut.
