The lung simulator, connectable to the respirator, has an airtight sack (3) inside a rigid container (2). The internal space (4) of the sack is connected to the respirator via a gas line (5). The remaining internal space (7) of the container is connected to a pressure generator (9) via another gas line (8). Measuring sensors (17,18,19) are used for pressure, vol. throughflow and direction of flow. These values are indicated, registered or evaluated and can be supplied to a computer (16) for automatic measuring programme selection and control. A keyboard (20) can manually vary the measuring programme control. One gas line (5) has a throttle with a measuring sensor (17,19) on either side. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. anaesthetic administering appts. Tests functions for all applications esp. spontaneous and mixed breathing forms.
