The device consists of two pontoons attached in V formation to the frame of an endless belt conveyor which is in turn attached to the bows of a power driven barge. The conveyor belt has attached buckets made of fine mesh. As the barge is driven over the water the oil or algae layer is driven towards the conveyor belt by the pontoons. The buckets of the conveyor scoop up the oil or algae together with some water. The water is drained off through the mesh sides of the buckets and the oil is, or the algae are, deposited in the hold of the barge. USE - Removal of oil slicks or algae from surface of sea.
