A fuel injected IC engine is controlled by an injector pump regulator operating on a continuous sensing of the engine parameters which respond to its loading. Thresholds for limiting the engine's permissible continuous full load operation and also for its short duration peak output are established. These limits, which collectively form the control regime of an electronic supervisory/control module, are automatically -adjusted in either direction and in conformity with the demands made on the engine during an immediate prior period. Electronic control of the pump setting is achieved electromagnetically or by pulse modulated stepping motor. USE/ADVANTAGE - Is better related to practical operating demands due to long period supervision - up to 3 hours. Has simple on-off indication of pump setting within control regime e.g. a microswitch on pump control spindle. Is easily fitted as an add-on unit to existing pump control. Protects engine against misuse and overload including disconnection or failurer of electronics.
