Constantly changing surface condition of small items - in cascade with tangentially discharging plate stirrers at offset levels

The surface condition and/or shape and/or size of free-flowing solid items, esp. mass-produced small goods, are progressively changed in a cascade whose elements each include a plate stirrer with an overflow channel delivering material to the next stirrer via a tangential path. The relative slope of elements is such that no return flow can occur, elements may be arranged in superimposed stacks with stirrer vessels at offset levels. Drive is provided by one or more common drive and/or support members, with plates affixed by clamps to the drive shaft. USE - Suitable for grinding, granulation or spheroidisation.
