The planar optical waveguides (W1,2) are integrated on different substrates (S1,2). The interconnectable waveguides have allocated spatial optical grids (G11,21;G12,22). One grid decouples the optical wave in a respective waveguide (W1) laterally from the same. The grid in the other waveguide (W2) is supplied with the decoupled wave. Pref. the interconnectable waveguides are mutually spaced in a micron order. Between the substrates may be fitted metal lugs (H). The decoupling grid is narrower than the associated coupling grid. USE/ADVANTAGE - For optical transmitter and receiver modules with narrow optical coupling and position tolerances.
