The assembly frame (3) carries projections (24) which are pushed into slots (28) in the driver circuit board (2) to retain the liq. crystal screen (1) and the underlying lattice frame (5) sepd. from it by a diffuse background lighting sheet (5'). The two halves (7', 7") of the housing (7) are clipped (11) to rails (12). The screen cover (15) is hooked (16) into recesses (17) in these rails. A control circuit board (6) withdrawable from the housing (7) carries connector mouldings (e.g. 19) under a cover (21) with an entry (25) for a control cable (26). ADVANTAGE - Display screen and its control circuitry are easily retrofitted to existing panel.
