A pair of spectacles are supported on the wearer's nose by pads (8). Each pad (8) is fastened to the spectacles frame by the end (4) of a wire (2). The other end (14) of each wire (2) is of enlarged diameter. The wire (2) fits with a snap action into slots formed in two parallel lugs (40,42) which form part of the pad (8). The part (14) of enlarged diameter of the wire (2) fits between the lugs (40,42) so that the wire cannot move axially but is free to rotate. The pad (8) is thus able to align itself with the bridge of the spectacle wearer's nose. USE - Spectacles.
