A cascade transformer tester can readily find the base point of the h.v connection since each cascade transformer has only one base point when it is in order. The threshold value is reached by a gas discharge lamp which always fires at 70 volts. The tester delivers an actual value of 75 volts proportional to the transformer voltage via its potential divider to the gas discharge lamp and hence activates the green or "good" light emitting diode. USE/ADVANTAGE - Rapid visual indication of whether transformer is functioning properly or not. Giving faster and cheaper service in t receiver repair.
