Portable tool for shearing electrical cable - has three-stage speed reduction with final drive onto toothed rim of pivoted shear blade

The shaping tool has a baseplate (4) with a bracket (5) and clamp for attchment to a portable power drill (9) at one end and a sickle-shaped blade extension at the other. Pivoted at the end (2') of the extension is a curved moving shear blade (24) which has gear teeth cut into its outer rim (23). The drive from the power' drill is through a worm and wheel (13,15) to further geared stages of speed reduction (18,20,22,23), the final stage being from the gearwheel (22) onto the toothed outer rim (23) of the shear blade (24). To shear a copper or aluminium cable it is placed in the gap (30) and the drill switched on until the cable is severed. USE/ADVANTAGE - Powerful continuous shearing action. Easy to use.
